Steeplejack Services

A steeplejack is a highly skilled craftsperson who works at height to inspect, repair, maintain, or dismantle tall structures—often without the need for conventional scaffolding. The role blends traditional trade skills with modern rope access and safety techniques.

🧗‍♂️ What Steeplejacks do:

  • Industrial Chimneys – Erection, inspection, maintenance and dismantlement of brick, steel, or concrete stacks
  • Church Spires & Towers – Stonework repairs, repointing and conservation of historic features
  • Heritage Buildings – Sensitive restoration of listed structures, often using traditional materials and methods
  • Lightning Protection – Installation and testing of systems to BS EN 62305 standards
  • Roofing & Masonry – Repairs to tiles, leadwork and structural elements at height
  • Painting & Cleaning – High-level surface treatment, including sandblasting and façade cleaning
  • Surveys & Inspections – Visual and photographic assessments, including quinquennial reports for churches

Steeplejacks are known for their versatility, combining rope access, or suspended cradles to reach otherwise inaccessible areas. It’s a trade rooted in heritage but constantly evolving with modern safety standards and techniques.
